Wait On The Lord

Sometimes I’m praying for something specific. the answer will be yes, no, or wait. When my prayer is answered it may look nothing like I thought. The Bible tells me God’s thoughts are much higher than our thoughts. Are you ready to receive your answer

My son is a baseball pitching coach. He is very good at his job and has learned from the best. He and believed we heard from the Lord saying it was time to elevate. He was coaching at one of the best High Schools in the Trinity League in Orange County, California. So he said his goodbyes at the and of the season (May), and went to North Carolina to coach in a summer league. All summer he was putting in job applications at various colleges and universities because that is what he believed the Lord told him to do. He also put out feelers with coach friends of his, letting them know he was looking for a job. At most colleges the players report August 1st.

On August 16th, he got a call from a coach at a state university in Oklahoma. Coach said his pitching coach didn’t report and he was praying for a replacement. He talked to one of my son’s coach friends, who recommended my son. They talked on the phone my son was offered the job. He got a job at the university level, and they offered a fully paid scholarship for a master’s degree, which is something my son has wanted but couldn’t afford. They also offered a 2-bedroom apartment for $500/month. When he bought his plane ticket, it was only $49 non-stop with 2 checked bags for free.

The same type of thing happened for a friend of mine. Her job kept making her relocate, and finally she put her foot down and said no more. Being a single mom, it was too difficult to keep making moves. She started her own business and was working on getting it started. Three months later, she got a call from her old boss, saying the freelance guy was retiring, and they wanted her back as a contractor. More money, she doesn’t have to be moving, and she is back with the company she already knew.

There are so many stories like this. When we wait on the Lord, whether we are waiting patiently, or seriously stressing, God is faithful. If we hear Him speak, then we need to wait on Him. He is faithful with His plan for our lives. He will not only provide what we are asking for, but he will give us more than what we lost, or left behind.

God may make us wait, but in the end it is so well worth it!
